LIVE via Zoom
Â
Join us as Helen Lindner from Mobility & Accessibility for Children and Adults (MACA) takes us through best-practice approaches to transport safety and AT for clients with disability.
Â
MACAÂ is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving vehicle transport safety and accessibility for children with disabilities and medical conditions. Although the full name includes âChildren,â MACA's work increasingly informs accessibility solutions for adults too, especially in relation to specialised seating and transport needs.
Â
MACA is a critical resource for OTs working with:
-
Complex seating and positioning needs
-
Vehicle travel risk assessments
-
NDIS-funded transport solutions and assistive technology
-
Ethical considerations around restraint and safety in private vehicles
Â
What will the session cover?
National Product Register, a publicly available online database of specialised car seats and vehicle restraint systems that are suitable for children with disabilities and/or medical conditions who cannot be safely transported in standard car seats.
AuSAP, the Australian Safety Assessment Program. AuSAP is a national program established by MACA to provide independent safety assessments of specialised vehicle restraint products designed for children with disabilities and medical conditions. It's the first and only program of its kind in Australia.
Â
How does this benefit me?
As an OT, you may be responsible for making or supporting complex clinical decisions about how a child with a disability is safely transported in a vehicle.
When standard car seats arenât suitable, you need to:
-
Identify an appropriate alternative,
-
Ensure itâs safe and legal,
-
Justify it clinically and often through NDIS reporting.
This is where the National Product Register and AuSAP are game changers.
The key benefits to you as an OT attending this AT Connect session:
- Evidence-informed decision-making: Supports clinical reasoning and documentation.
- NDIS-aligned: Assists in preparing clear, justifiable funding requests and ensuring appropriate use of assistive technology.
- Streamlined practice: Reduces the administrative burden of researching and comparing products manually.
- Confidence and safety: Ensures OTs can recommend transport solutions that prioritise the child's safety and needs, even in complex or niche situations.
This session will be highly valuable for OTs working in paediatrics, assistive technology, complex seating, and anyone supporting transport planning under the NDIS.

A Supportive
OT Community
Working as a sole trader or being the only OT in your organisation can feel isolating. As an Inner Circle member, youâll be part of a community of people
who share your challenges, interests and professional drive.

Service Agreement NDIS Template
Service agreements outline the terms of service between you as an OT and your client. This foundational NDIS template includes the responsibilities of both parties, payment terms, support details, complaint processes and termination procedures. It's customisable, so you can add your own branding and adjust specifics, such as travel charges or service duration, to fit your practice.
Â
Functional Assessment Templates
Functional assessments are critical for OTs in the NDIS space â but the NDIS doesnât provide a standardised template. Our functional assessment template helps you structure your assessments to cover all the details the NDIS requires, from assessment tools to recommendations. We offer templates for all functional assessments, including SDA, SIL and ILO assessments.
Â
Schedule of Support NDIS Template
Used in conjunction with the Service Agreement, a schedule of support specifies the number of hours and costs involved in the services provided. This formal document is given to participants and family members to ensure they understand the investment required for the services.
Â
Report-Writing Guides
Many of our NDIS templates come with report-writing guides, perfect for anyone unfamiliar with or needing to refresh their knowledge of NDIS reporting requirements. The guides provide advice on how to complete each section of the template, ensuring your reports are thorough and compliant.
Â
Checklists and other resources
We've also created a range of checklists, services overviews plus gathered our favourite external resources in the one spot for members to access. Our inner circle resource hub also includes the A-Z of the NDIS, with individual 5-10minute video tutorials on a range of NDIS related topics to guide you through your NDIS OT journey.

Access personalised, weekly Q&A sessions with Sarah and your Inner Circle community
At our weekly Q&A sessions, Inner Circle members access personalised, weekly support in a group discussion that works like ongoing supervision.
If you encounter a challenge thatâs holding you back â whether itâs a documentation issue, a client question or a change in NDIS policy â you can ask your questions at our Q&A session for a quick, expert response.
You wonât need to wait more than a week for answers, so you can continue providing your services without delay.
Â
Submit questions in advance
You donât need to be present live to get your questions answered, either. Submit your queries beforehand, and theyâll be addressed during the session. Afterwards, you can watch the video recording, complete with timestamps to help you quickly locate the answers to your specific questions.
Â
Get real-time advice
If youâre able to join live, you can participate in discussions and ask additional questions on the spot. Along with guidance from experts, youâll benefit from the collective insights of other OTs.Â
